This wasn't the first time Kurt had been to visit the motel where the Evans family now lived. This was, however, the first time he would be staying for more than half an hour. Sam asked him if he was able to keep an eye on the little ones with Quinn while Sam was out working, to give the girl some company in her own age group. Who was Kurt to say no?
Therefore, Kurt found himself in the cramped motel room with two little kids and next to no babysitting experience. Quinn wasn't there yet. At least Stacy and Stevie were excited to see him, hugging his legs as he walked through the door. "Hey! It's been a while!" he greeted warmly, and the kids giggled and jumped onto the bed.
Sam hadn't left yet. "Are you good to watch them by yourself, or should I wait until Quinn gets here?" he asked standing unsure by the door.
"If you stay here any later, you're going to be late," Kurt smirked. "Go on; I think I can take it from here." Sam crouched down to give his siblings a hug and asked them to be good for Kurt and Quinn. They happily replied that they would. Kurt looked on the scene with a smile. It might be nice to have a little sister or something, he mused, especially if they were as close as Sam was with his family. Well, he had Finn, and that was kind of like having a ten-year-old brother. But they didn't talk as much as Kurt would have liked, even if he had Blaine and was completely over Finn.
Quinn arrived just as Sam was leaving. They exchanged a quick glance; she'd been over so many times already, so she knew the drill. Sam gave her a wistful look before turning away, and Kurt was surprised. He thought that he saw Sam holding hands with Mercedes last time he and Blaine had a date, or maybe he was just seeing things...?
Stacy and Stevie reacted to her the same way they'd reacted to Kurt, except maybe with more enthusiasm and affection. "I think they see you as a big sister," Kurt remarked, waiting for the kids to back away before greeting her with a hug of his own. "It's great to see you, Quinn. And you look fantastic, if I do say so myself."
He spun around to face his charges for the evening and clapped his hands together."Okay! What should we do first?"

Quinn Smiled at the picture of her and Sam at sectionals, her and Sam looked cute together. She changed from her Breadstix uniform and into her 'Lucy Caboosey' T-shirt with Skinny jeans. She grabbed all the stuff she got for the Evans family, She loved Stevie and Stacie as much as she loved Sam. "Mom! Im going to the Motel to baby sit Stacie and Stevie!" She said grabbing her car keys. She left with a bag of clothes, and she grabbed movies for them to watch. As she drove her favorite song came on. "I close my eyes and the flashback starts, im standing there on a balcony in Summer air." She sang along to 'love story' by Taylor Swift. Her and Kurt were going to work together with the little ones. Once she reached the starlight Motel, she parked and grabbed her stuff. She had a key for the door and the room because she spent so much time with Sam. Once she reached the door and opened it, she saw Sam and she whispered "Love you Sammy." He whspered back to her "Back at ya Quinnie." Stevie and Stacie soon tackled her with hugs. "Hey Kiddos! I brought Junk food! hey Kurt!" she laughed putting down the bag and lifting Stacie into her arms. "Stacie... Did you lose a tooth?" she chuckled. After she talked to Stacie, she set her back down and hugged Kurt. "You too Kurt!" Shesmiled as she pulled out the entertainment she brought. "Well I brought Movies!!" TAGGED Kurt! Kurt observed the exchange between Sam and Quinn suspiciously. He didn't know whether to text Mercedes about it or ask Quinn what was up, so he just let it drop. Sometimes he missed Dalton with its lack of relationship drama. Well, the school wasn't entirely devoid of it, he supposed. He'd created enough of it in his time, and he and Blaine weren't the only gay guys there. He just didn't notice it when he was so concerned with his own problems and adjusting to private school life. Then again, there was always something up with Thad that he never quite managed to place.
"Junk food? You shouldn't have!" Kurt laughed over Stacie and Stevie's cheering. "They're going to be bouncing off the walls all night, now." Unfortunately, Kurt didn't have the foresight to bring anything. He forgot that they had few possessions left after selling most of what they owned. Despite his joking, he was thankful for Quinn's presence. He wasn't sure that he would be able to keep the kids entertained enough by himself until Sam got back. The former head cheerleader, it appeared, certainly had a way with the younger generation. They absolutely adored her. Maybe, if he was successful tonight... Well, he considered bringing Blaine if Sam asked him again.
"I'm always fabulous," Kurt smirked, waving the comment off. He'd chosen the brown sweater with the French horn design, one of his personal favorites. It was one of the very few outfits he wore more than once, preferring to mix and match for a new look every day. Things like that reinforced his decision to leave Dalton, with the very limited options in the school uniform. "Nice T-shirt, though. I wonder where you got it," he nudged her fondly.
Quinn took a stack of DVDs out of her overnight bag. "Let's see, what have we here..." There was a lovely assortment of Disney films, many of them classics. Toy Story always went over well... "The Sound of Music?" Kurt said, grinning from ear to ear. That was his favorite musical ever since early childhood. He used to watch it with his mom all the time, and she even told him that he was named after one of the Von Trapp children (three guesses who). "Have you two ever seen it?" The pair shook their heads. "No? Well, I should have known, since Sam didn't even know what Singin' in the Rain was. With your permission, you are about to be introduced to what is probably one of the greatest musicals of all time. If I may?"
They pointed out the DVD player -- miracle that thing hadn't been sold -- and Kurt slid the disc into its slot. The four of them gathered on the bed and the lights were switched off. The overture began, and the kids were immediately enthralled. "I never would have expected them to get this interested," Kurt thought aloud. "Julie Andrews hasn't even appeared yet, and she starts the movie." Stacie shushed him, and he had to chuckle at that. He was just like that when his dad tried to talk through the overture.
Kurt turned to face Quinn and spoke quieter this time. "You know, I never really did get to talk to you about prom... You know, with what happened." It was an uncomfortable topic to approach. The experience wasn't exactly pleasant for either of them; Quinn had been campaigning for Prom Queen basically since her freshman year, it seemed, and then the honor had gone to Kurt as a joke. "I would have given it to you if I could," he offered. "You deserved it, you know. You actually worked for it." He imagined that if it weren't for homophobia, she would have won, fair and square.
The overture ended, and Maria entered on the small screen. Kurt couldn't resist singing along, in perfect unison "The hills are alive with the sound of music, with songs they have sung for a thousand years..." Maybe he and Quinn could teach them the songs before the night was over.

Quinn knew Mercredes and Sam were Dating, but just for Stacie and Stevie they were like a married couple. She chuckled at Kurt's reponse to her bring junk food. "No they wont be hyper. Isnt that right Kiddos?" She was staying overnight like she always did, it was fun because she was basically a kid at heart. "That good to hear Kurt!" she smiled, she watched as Stacie picked through the bag she brought filled with stuff for Sam's family. "There is a Disney princesses T-shirt for you in there Stacie." Quinn bhad gone shopping to help out the Evans, she gave them her earnings from her job, she bought clothes, baby sat, she basically did everything she could.
"Thanks! The kiddos like it and I love yours too" She smiled before setting up her cot. Afterwards she pulled out the stack of movies from her bag. When Kurt pointed at the copy of the sound of music she smiled "Yup!" She knew that Stevie and Stacie never seen the movie, so it was good that they could. "Let me get the treats" She whisperedd reaching over to her bag, pulling out Popcorn, pop, jubes jubes, and a chocolate bar.
She handed each attendent of their little party a can of pop, some popcorn and some candy. "Enjoy" she said as the movie began. When Kurt started on the prom subject, she sighed. "Its alright, I mean as much as I would of loved to have that honour." She spoke quietly.

For once, Kurt saw the disadvantages of growing up as an only child. The way Quinn interacted with Sam's younger siblings was clearly experienced and frankly, he was a little jealous. She always had an older sister to play with in her childhood; the same could not be said of Kurt. The closest thing he had to a sibling at all was Finn, and he only just recently came into his life as his stepbrother. Kurt never had anyone to look after, and only his dad to look after him after his mom died. He didn't really know how to take care of little kids, having no real (or memorable) example to model himself after.
Quinn probably could have kept Beth and accomplished just as much as she did in the past year. When the time comes, she'll be an excellent mother, Kurt thought. Especially if she takes care of her own kids as well as she's taking care of these two.
Stacie and Stevie were perfect little angels for Quinn. "Oh you won't, will you?" Kurt asked them sceptically. They giggled mischievously in response. Kurt smiled, remembering how he was whenever his mom gave him candy. Kids always got sugar-high on junk food; there was no question. At least Quinn seemed to have a handle on things. She probably had to deal with these kids many times before, since she was one of the first to know about their situation. As many times as Kurt had been there, she was there more, just for Stacie and Stevie. And he'd heard that she looked after other kids who were hyper all the time... Kurt thought he wouldn't be able to do that ever.
Quinn had clothes for the kids and Kurt scowled. Finn had banned him from bringing any more clothes for the Evanses, just because he didn't think that Sam liked them. They fit, and they were better than anything Finn had to offer... what would he have against him? But of course, Finn said that they "weren't Sam's style". Ridiculous. Kurt had the best taste in clothing of anybody, except maybe Mercedes.
"If that's the case, maybe I should wear mine more often..." Kurt mused. Then his face fell. "Then again, walking around in a T-shirt declaring my homosexuality is probably a bad idea..." It wasn't that he wasn't proud of who he was. He loved who he was. He couldn't help but think of the unwanted attention it would attract to him, though, or worse: to Blaine. That was the reason he was so desperate to leave as soon as high school was over, to escape the unnecessary hatred of people like him, to find a place where he was just accepted, no questions asked.
Quinn was setting up a cot with the same air of experience she had with the kids. "Oh, you're staying over?" Kurt asked curiously. Had that even been an option? How long was Sam staying out? he thought, with just a touch of panic tightening in his ribcage. Thankfully, it didn't really take much to keep Stacie and Stevie occupied. The Sound of Music was a long movie, and it would keep up until Kurt had to go home. At least, until the time he told his dad he would be home.
When Quinn broke out the treats, Kurt shrugged and decided to indulge. It was just this once, right? Besides, it wasn't as if he allowed this kind of food at home, not with his dad's heart condition. He graciously accepted what she gave him, savoring each bit.
"I know how much you wanted it," Kurt replied guiltily regarding the Prom Queen crown. "And I really wish they hadn't said my name. I'm glad that I at least had Blaine there with me... It must have been hard for you to deal with, especially after Finn got himself thrown out." If it hadn't been for Blaine, Kurt probably would have run away. Blaine gave him courage, and just that thought made him laugh at the memory of the day they met. It was hard to deal with things alone, he knew that much.
