Jeff walked through the familiar doors of the Warblers' favorite hangout and smiled broadly. On his way through the shop to the line, he nodded to acknowledge a few other regulars. The wait in line was nothing new; there was nobody there that he knew particularly well or wanted to talk to-- not yet, anyway-- and he was humming the tune to a song on the new setlist. It was the background part that he was memorizing, so nobody really recognized it, but he didn't care. He was particularly excited today, since he was meeting an old friend, and he bounced to the beat of the song. He wanted some other Warblers to go with him; none of them ever got to see this friend because a certain Warbler kept stealing him away. Not that he minded, of course. The pair were rather adorable. They just didn't spend enough time with the rest of the guys anymore.
When he got to the front of the line, he ordered his usual hot chocolate (just enough caffeine that he still got his fix, but not enough to get him bouncing off the walls), and chose a table by the window so his friend could see him when he walked in. There was still quite a bit of time before he asked his friend to show up, though. He understood that he had quite a drive to get here and back, so he couldn't keep him long, either. What a shame. At least he brought a book to keep him entertained, and the coffeshop wasn't too loud for reading.
In honor of the upcoming movie premier, Jeff was rereading the Harry Potter series. That stuff is literary gold. Gold. He was no longer humming (there was a choking hazard while he sipped at his drink), but he alternately drummed with his fingers and turned pages (except when he picked up his cocoa).
