THE BASICS
Name // Jesse Henry St. James
Age // 19. March 7
Gender // male
Race // Caucasian
Relgion // Agnostic
Orientation // Heterosexual
EVERYTHING ELSE
Personality // Jesse is a drama queen who appreciates talent, but not much else. He is a skilled musician and dancer, and definitely likes that trait in others. Anything remotely less than perfect is unacceptable, and nothing is more important than show choir. Nothing, that is, except his girlfriend Rachel. While his priorities have been proven to be screwed up, he puts the people important to him first. His attitude tends to drive everyone else away.
Family //
Henry St. James -- father
Ellen St. James -- mother
Physical // Part of being in theater and show choir is looking good, and Jesse makes certain that he does. While he isn't as high-strung on looks as, say, Kurt, he cares a lot about his appearance and makes sure to stay in style. He's really very manly. He has been compared to Mr. Schuester, though, and that may have something to do with his wavy hair.
History // Once upon a time, Jesse was Vocal Adrenaline's golden boy. He didn't need to do anything other than show choir in school, and he actively participated in theater and ballet. He led the choir to win Nationals four years in a row, the last of which was a completely different story.
He met Rachel Berry in a music store, at first intending to have a completely innocent relationship involving spying on her glee club and introducing her to her mom, but she wasn't like what he expected. They had a lot more in common, it seemed, and they hit it off instantly. They started going out, staying together for a couple months before he went back to Vocal Adrenaline, because he thought that winning was everything. It turned out, not so much.
In spite of his betrayal, he returned to Lima to be her boyfriend again. He started consulting for show choirs and helped New Directions plan for Nationals. He and Finn weren't on good terms. Jealousy over Rachel kept them apart. He let go of her once; he is not about to make that mistake again.
Rp Sample
There she was, looking at the music book for Lionel Richie. Her glee club was doing an assignment on songs that included "hello" in the title. She looked so much like her mother, but in a cute, totally not creepy way.
Jesse already knew her from her Sectional competition. They were lucky enough to have their shows on different weekends so it was possible for him to scope out the enemies, the new contenders. Well, he didn't really consider them much of a threat, since they were still very, very rough, but for some reason all the forums seemed to say otherwise. She sang the solo for her choir's ballad.
In truth, he thought she was the best one up there on the stage, not that he would say so. Instead, he played the suave critic. "Your voice was stunning, but it lacked emotional depth," he told her. Inwardly, he knew that was hypocrisy, but he had an excellent poker face. He then asked her to sing the Lionel Richie song with him, right there in the store, in front of everyone. She agreed, albeit reluctantly, and the pair put on a great impromptu performance.
They had a date for the following Friday.
That was probably one of Jesse's most cherished memories: the day he met Rachel. He hadn't given it much thought before, but that was the day his life began to change.
